Victor Basson has been on a lifelong search for his tone. His influences in music are among the legends of the Music world. Ranking among the top artists and bands include: Deep Purple, Jimmy Hendrix, John Mayal, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and The Doobie Brothers. Victor started out as a hard working, touring Guitarist and lead singer in a band from his home country in South Africa. During the 1970’s his band had a lot of success and had a No. 1 hit on the charts. Around this time, his band was scheduled as one of the opening acts at a local festival. The headlining band’s guitarist had accidentally blown his guitar rig and, with quick thinking, pointed over at Victor Basson’s stack that was sitting just off stage. “Hey can I borrow that for my set, the guitarist asked. “Sure”, Victor replied. The set concluded to huge applause and at the end of the event the lead guitarist who borrowed Victor’s rig asked, “where did you get this rig, it sounds amazing”. Victor replied, “I built it”.

Fast forward 30 years later now in America. The same scenario happens again. Victor offers to build a PA System for an event. After the event the DJ asks Victor, “hey these sound amazing, where can I buy these mains”? Victor replies, “You can buy them from me, I built them”. Basson Sound Equipment had it’s beginnings in 2001 in Vista, California and has since moved to a bigger facility in Carlsbad, California. The rest, as they say, is history.

Basson Sound’s goal is to give the musician an affordable, uniquely designed, American Made piece of gear. Our sound is all about amazing low end, clean beautiful tones and a vast range of frequency and power that will appeal to every genre that plays through a Basson. We also know it is important to our customers to have us available. We strive to keep this company at a personal level of service. We will answer our phones and your email quickly. We will also solve any of your concerns, problems, needs and desires IMMEDIATELY. Corporate America seems to have forgotten its roots, we have not, and will not!
